In its heyday, Holy Trinity Church in the East End of Sunderland was one of the most important buildings in the city. Functioning not only as a place of worship, but also as a meeting venue and alms house the building was central to the local community and the East End inhabitant's needs.
Recently, like many churches it is looking to reinvent itself as a public space, hosting events or gallery space.
The images are from occasions spent at the Church, and reflect my impressions of the church itself as it prepares for a functional transformation.
